2. Categories of Personal Data Processed

Name-surname, institutional/academic title and faculty-department information, contact information (email, phone), institutional subscription and library information, billing and payment information, account credentials, platform usage and credit consumption records, support request and feedback content, IP address and cookie data are the main categories of personal data processed under KVKK.

3. Processing Purposes

Your personal data is processed to create and manage your membership, to establish your access rights under your institution's campus subscription, to carry out credit-based usage and billing processes, to provide the AI tools you request, to respond to your support requests, to ensure platform and account security, to improve service quality, and to fulfill our legal obligations.

4. Legal Grounds

Your personal data is processed based on one or more of the legal grounds set out in Article 5 of Law No. 6698: being directly related to the establishment or performance of a contract, fulfillment of our legal obligation, being mandatory for the establishment, exercise, or protection of a right, being mandatory for our legitimate interests provided that it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms, and your explicit consent.

5. Transfers

Your personal data may be shared, to the extent necessary for providing the service and in compliance with Articles 8 and 9 of KVKK, with our domestic and international hosting, infrastructure, payment, and AI service providers, with your institution's authorized units (under a campus subscription), and with authorized public bodies as required by our legal obligations. Where data is transferred abroad, the safeguards required by applicable legislation are observed.

6. Retention Periods

Your personal data is retained for as long as required by the purpose of processing, taking into account the statute of limitations and evidentiary obligations set out in applicable legislation. When the retention period ends or the purpose of processing no longer applies, your data is deleted, destroyed, or anonymized.

7. Data Subject Rights

Under Article 11 of KVKK, you have the right to: learn whether your personal data is processed; request information if it is; learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly; know the third parties to whom it is transferred domestically or abroad; request correction if processed incompletely or incorrectly; request deletion or destruction; request that these actions be notified to third parties to whom the data has been transferred; object to a result arising against you from analysis of your data exclusively through automated systems; and request compensation for damages arising from unlawful processing. Your applications are concluded within 30 days at the latest, depending on the nature of the request.
